Farewell Substack and What's Next

Rosie Recommends will live on at the awesome Women Write About Comics.

Hello lovely readers,

I’m writing this as I will be leaving Substack due to the recent statements made by their leadership on the topic of nazis. I honestly always felt unsure of whether I wanted to support this company due to its history, hence why I never turned on my paid subscription tier, and this has confirmed this isn’t the right place for me.

Before I shut this newsletter down though, I want to say thank you to all the amazing folks who read this and the rad creators who sat down to chat with me. I will be continuing the work I did here at Women Write About Comics where I started my journey as a professional writer eight years ago. There isn’t a huge market for paid books and comics coverage these days, but just as I wrote this newsletter for free to highlight works I found cool and important, taking this back to WWAC means I’ll be doing that while supporting the volunteer-led community that gave me so much!

I’d be honored if you follow me over there with my new column which will be called Rosie Reads. And eventually we hope to republish the pieces on the WWAC Patreon. You can also continue to read and support my work elsewhere by subscribing to getting updates about every article I write at authory.com/rosieknight. If you want to send me a few bucks to support my work or buy me a cup of tea head to my Ko-fi. I also have some other exciting newsletter stuff in the works so keep your eyes peeled.
